I still have a month until the end of the quarter, but my Biblical & theological studies have been growing rapidly to the point that I need more folders!
Note taking system
Each year, I evaluate my study & note taking system to know what works and what doesn't. I have been using A4 size folders labelled with different major interests to gather up knowledge I learned. After 2 years, I started to find the folder annoying. Mainly because of its size. I still love using folder/binder.
This year I am trying out smaller size. I use the old A4 folders and cut them into A5 size. It works better for me. I was able to take them in my purse or laptop bag, when I study in a library or a café, without drama.
The system itself is mainly the same. Read here for more on the system.
Language learning
I started learning Koine Greek again at the end of last year. And somehow I was so driven to learn Spanish and Mandarin. I have different goals for each of them.
- Koine Greek – to be able to get familiar again with it and to read Biblical greek
- Spanish – I want to be conversationally fluent, able to read, write, and listen to sermon in Spanish
- Mandarin – Mainly to be able to speak basic conversations
Honestly, I have been focusing more on Spanish learning since my husband and I are planning to move to California. I know there are many Spanish speakers on that side of United States.
Resources
- Koine Greek – I use Bill Mounce's course on https://www.biblicaltraining.org/
- Spanish – I use Duolingo, The Open University, Gracia a Vosotros, Himnos de Gracia, and Paul Washer's sermons 😊
- Mandarin – Duolingo and The Open University courses
